Port Erin (PURT CHIARN) Fire Station is situated in Droghadfayle Road in Port Erin and is manned by part time retained personnel, which in similarity to other retained stations is made up of one Station Officer, one Sub-Officer, two Leading Firefighters and ten Firefighters, who respond to their fire station at any time of the day or night when their fire service pagers are operated.  The station has two pumping appliances one is a Water Tender Ladder Appliance call sign 6:0 and the other appliance is a Pinzgauer Six Wheel Drive Vehicle call sign 6:3.  This vehicle like the other Pinzgauer Vehicles that are part of the fire service fleet are of utmost importance to Port Erin as there are large sections of hilly terrain where a rigid road fire appliance would not access.
